CECT A988 Dual Sim TV Phone - An Overview Of Features

I became completely hooked on Chinese cell phone clones with the release of the CECT P168 early last year. Since that time, the Chinese manufacturer has released numerous additional models. Some, but not all, seem to be based on iPhone technology. Almost all have added bonus features that I believe arguably make the knock offs more intriguing than the original. Some examples of these additions are: a slide unlock feature so you are free to use whichever carrier you wish; two sim slots for two numbers or plans; a removable battery; FM radio; and more surround sound speakers.
The CECT A988, one of the newer models, has all of these features. However, what really sets this phone apart in my opinion is the “TV out” feature which means that you can connect the phone to your big screen TV to watch video or media. This feature is very popular for parents like me or folks who take a lot of evolving video and want to later share it on a larger screen without having to squint to see the small details. I have literally taken video of my kids’ sporting events and shown it to excited grandparents in large, vivid detail one hour later.
Additionally, this phone has many standard features that you would expect from a Chinese knock off, including: a 3.0 inch TFT touch screen with finger touch; internet browsing with WAP 2.0; 5 3D sound speakers; Bluetooth 2.0; SMS and MMS voice mail and messaging; MP3 ring tones; a 2.0 mega pixel built in camera / camcorder; and 1.7 MB of memory that is upgradable to 4GB. It is also quad band which means it will work almost anywhere in the world.
Unlike many clones, this model does have a small keyboard and scroll bar which makes texting easier. It is black on the back and metallic silver in the front and includes a stylus. It is sleek and streamlined.
Price wise this phone is very competitive, starting at about $100 if you know where to look.
