CECT S688 Phone - Which Features Are Added To (Or Taken From) This Newest Version Of The HiPhone
By Rae Edwards
Many people confuse the new CECT S688 with the HiPhone i32. At first glance, these two phones do look the same. But, there are some very important differences in the features offered. I will discuss these in this article.
Side by side, both phones look identical. Both have oversized 3.5 inch finger touch screens with all of the basic smart phone features that you would expect, including the ability to: surf the web; email and text (SMS and MMS); enjoy Bluetooth; play MP3s and MP4s; and take photos and video with the built in camera.
Both phones are unlocked and are tri band. They work with most GSM carriers and will automatically read your sim card. Neither has a stylus. Both are expandable to hold up to 2GB of memory. Customer satisfaction on each phone is very high. I’ve found no problems with either. Both are nice mobiles which take great pictures and have superior sound systems. They are very similar in price, ranging anywhere from $100 - $150, depending on where you get them.
Here are the key differences: The S688 is a single sim phone. The i32 is dual sim, which means you can have two phone numbers or two plans. It also does not have the shake and tilt feature that is beloved on the HiPhone. These two features are typically popular standouts for the clones, and are what sets them apart from their mainstream counterparts.
But, the 688 has many attractive additions, like an FM radio, a slightly smaller size, and a slightly quicker performance.
This speedy, intuitive performance has a lot of consumers buzzing about the 688. Whether it appeals to you depends greatly on what you want in a phone. If you were counting on dual sim or shake and tilt, you might lean more toward the original HiPhone 132. But, if a smaller phone and quicker performance appeals to you more, then the 688 is definitely worth a look.
